Take Two

Take Two Interactive announced the sale of over 6 million units of Grand Theft Auto since its launch last Tuesday (April 29th).

Grand Theft Auto IV, the critically acclaimed video game, has sold through to consumers approximately 6 million units globally with an estimated retail value of more than 0 million in the first week. Grand Theft Auto IV sold approximately 3.6 million units on its opening day with a retail value of approximately 0 million globally.

Not surprising given the hype surrounding the game/launch and this falls in line with Take Two's own forecasts for the game. The only way they could have surprised us was if the game under-sold but their was very little aside from an act of God that would have made that happen.
