 Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will finally launch September 18 after almost 3 years in development. EA also revealed the monthly subscription rate will be $14.99. If you have the extra cash, you'll get discounts for multiple month purchases (e.g., 6 months for $78 which works out to be about $13 per month). The game has been in what some have called Dev-hell but clearly not as far down in Hell as a game like Duke Nukem Forever... EA has been pushing Mythic a bit more this year about the launch window and the Dev responded by dropping several races and cities from the final version of the game. Probably a good move and EA can just add these later on if the game proves to be popular. Will this be the WoW-killer everyone (every other company besides Blizzard at the very least) has been waiting for? Conan was supposed to do that but their player numbers have dropped significantly after the trial subscriptions ran out (their stock price took a huge hit too). Maybe this one has some possibilities but all the different MMOs have not yet been able to pry people away from their orks and wizards in WoW. 787,000 beta applicants is quite a number so we'll see how many they can convert in the end...

... I have to agree with you on this one. I don't have time either and lets face it, this looks just like WOW to me anyway. Where's the Sci-Fi, I thought Warhammer was Sci-fi? |
