Monday starts the weekly grind all over again but hopefully you got some time in with your favorite games this weekend.

We were fortunate to have spent time with 3 great games - SOCOM: Confrontation, COD: World at War beta and Resistance 2 beta. Wow, what a weekend! All three games are pretty damn fun and each brings unique things to the FPS arena.

SOCOM: Confrontation is what you might call a typical military-themed FPS game. It is in fact just that but it nails it perfectly. The pacing of the game is right and while the graphics are not the best the PS3 can do, they are not shabby at all. Once again, I compare games like this to my ATF BF2 and this game I have to say gives me the closest feel to BF2 I've had from a console. You feel right moving, like gravity actually exists. The weapons are accurate and deadly. It's just a good time and the maps are amazing. I have to say, if they were to put this on PC it would sell a ton of copies and it would stand a good chance at converting many BF2 holdouts and COD4 gamers.

COD5 (yes, Activision does call it that...) is a good game too. It has the same feel as COD4 (same engine) but seems to be better paced and less frantic. This probably has something to do with the larger maps and the different weapons. You get perks up the wazoo, more than COD4 in fact. There are some issues still, tearing in the graphics which seem to be at a low resolution still, guns might be a little to strong in some cases and there are some serious spawn camping issues that need to be addressed. Hopefully they will iron these out before the game is released in a month.

Resistance 2 is a butt-load of fun. Has the Resistance feel but with better tuned graphics, more vivid and bright colors are a good thing. You can jump in a frag away with a decent amount of kit loadout options and pick the right gun for the situation. Compared to the COD5 beta, the Resistance 2 beta is extremely polished and if there were hiccups, we didn't notice any. The servers were also running better than the live, release SOCOM servers (damn you /6!).

Anyway, you can see we had a blast this weekend and we hope you did too.

	... Dayum that's a lot of gaming! I've played SOCOM on a friends machine and it's pretty amazing. I wish they would do an Xbox version because it's a lot better than BFBC. The World At War beta is cool, I played me some this weekend. I wish they would release some more maps but the game is coming out in a couple of weeks anyway.

I like the slower pace of BFBC and the squad system better but COD 5 is a hoot. Dogs are just perfect for this game and I know when I hear them to either get in a corner or jump up on something.

I did get in after about 15 minutes of trying and it was fun. The graphics are a little better than before (Zipper's) but the game is about the teamwork. I got wrecked because I was running around by myself but the guys running in twos or threes were rocking it out.

Chicago is insane with all the buildings you can walk through and the stairs and the jump fans. Lot's of roof activity and lots of sniping and shotty work on snipers heads after you sneak up on them. Just amazing.
