Valve Steam Cloud
Valve is launching their Steam Cloud service with the Left 4 Dead demo later this week which is very interesting indeed.

If you don't remember what Steam Cloud is or what it does it can simply be summed up as a service that will keep game/control settings on Steam and make them available to any computer you login into Steam with.

Wait, that didn't seem all that concise either. Here it is directly from the horse's mouth

Upon logging into Steam from another PC, these settings will be brought down from the Cloud and automatically leveraged by the game. Any configuration changes on this second machine are then synced to the Cloud for future sessions.

For L4D, you can look for the following to be active

In this first release, the information stored and accessible through the Steam Cloud includes keyboard, mouse, and gamepad configurations, as well as multiplayer settings such as spraypaint images

Pretty sweet, it will be interesting to see how this works with third-party devices like keyboard devices (Nostromo anyone?) and mouse programs (Setpoint?) if at all.

Amazing, Valve could add this pretty big feature and get it out the door but DICE can't even finish Battlefield Heroes after several months of "beta". I just hope Valve never gets bought by EA, that would suck.

This is an interesting concept. Has anybody tried out the "cloud" yet?
