Looks like the officially licensed Commodore 64 emulator App for iPhone isn't going to be coming out after all. According to an article over at TouchArcade, Apple denied this gem on grounds that it executes code on the iPhone; this even though they point to other licensed Apps that do this. This is really sad because I have to tell you, the screenshots got me a little more excited than they should have.

The C64 was my first computer and my second gaming machine after the Atari 2600. I remember playing Impossible Mission, Winter Sports, Summer Sports, Sky Fox and a host of other games on my trusty C64. I had the floppy drive of course and a bad-ass Okidata printer that use some sort of colored ribbon contraption to put out the worst color prints you ever saw. Still, best computer ever. Sad now.
