Microsoft finally launched Kodu today on XBLIVE for 400 MS points ($5) and it's an interesting toy. What Kodu does is simplify the programming required to design and make mini-games using a lot of different icons instead of a formal programing language. The simple programming goes a long way into making a natural language designer but the mini game limitation leaves it feeling a bit stunted. According to one of the devs: If you're careful with performance, you can make significantly larger worlds, but you're not going to make Gears 3 with Kodu 1.Interesting...does this mean we will be able to make GoW3 with Kodu 2? Doubtful, but why not set the bar high!
