The title probably should Alex Mercer (Prototype) Vs. Cole McGrath because that's what I'm talking about here. Let's face it, there are many similarities between the two games that makes them immediately comparable:
- Ruined cities
- Government lockdowns
- Guys with super-powers that can't remember things (ouchy, my head musta got bumped)
- Guys with super-powers that can be recharged by sucking life force out of people
To get to the versus though we need to look at what makes them different though don't we? Cole's main advantage over Alex is his ability to throw projectiles of electricity. Alex has no projectile abilities unless you count grabbing guns and using them - we won't in this comparison. Cole also has an easier time recharging his powers than Alex does but Alex doesn't spend juice - he just loses mojo when he gets hurt. This is a strength of Alex and he also doesn't get hurt from jumping down from the Empire State Building and isn't afraid of water. Oh yeah, he can run really fast and morph into someone else to hide. Hmmm, I think you can see where this is going now. Let's jump to a table now.

|
Saving Ability |
|
|

In the end, without comparing the games to each other, Alex Mercer would kick Cole's ass. If he couldn't kill Cole, he could get away from him so fast Cole would have to call up Zeke for help finding him. The sheer amount of destruction Alex is capable of is crazy, as are the amounts and variations of his upgrades.
Winner... Alex Mercer (Prototype)

... I would say this is more the Alex Vs. Cole then inFamous vs. Prototype matchup. Sure Alex could kick Cole's ass, but that doesn't immediately make Prototype a better game. |

... I don't know which is the better game actually because both were fun. It's not about console either because Proto is available on both. One thing that I like about Proto though that I dislike about inFamous is the bad guys. They are a bit more realistic/believable in Proto. Other than that, both great games. |

... I just started playing Prototype but have yet to play Infamous. So far it reminds me A LOT of the Hulk game a few years back, which is a good thing. Pretty solid summer action game all around. |
