DiRT 2 Uses DX11 on PC for Mutli-threading Super-detailed Action...Release Date Moved Back to December

DiRT 2

DiRT 2 is coming out on September 8th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 but as with all multi-platform games, one version will look better than another. In this case, the PC version pwns. Codemasters is turning up the detail in DiRT 2 by taking advantage of DX11 and it shows in the two latest screenshots. While I'm sure everyone is excited to get a new level of realism from the game...I'm equally sure nobody is hyped up by Codemasters delaying the PC version until December now.

Bryan Marshall, chief technical officer from Codemasters says As a leader in digital racing entertainment, we are staying ahead of the pack by immediately taking advantage of key new technologies such as hardware tessellation, multi-threading and Shader Model 5.0 to deliver the most realistic, immersive and exhilarating racing experiences in the business. The fusion of DirectX 11 with Codemasters’ EGO™ Engine will raise the technical bar considerably in the racing genre.
