GI Joe...a real American Hero...Gooooo Joe! Yah, I'm getting my retro kicks on this morning with a little GI Joe reminiscing. I used to have the Hummer, the helo, a couple of other things, and would hit the back yard and fight the good fight against Cobra or more accurately, Cobra plus whatever Star Wars action figures I was supplementing the ranks with. Vader and Cobra Commander would always wind up getting into a fight themselves with Destro breaking it up with this shiny-ass bald head.

OK, now onto something more tangible, how about these new screenshots from the upcoming game GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Sure it's based on a movie and will probably suck but that won't stop a couple of hundred thousand people from buying it! Go Joe!

Game hits the streets on August 4th.

They could probably make a decent game without any movie ties and just be a GI Joe game, but they will make a crappy attempt to follow the story of the movie and just destroy the game.
