FIFA 10 Gets Live Season with Weekly Updates

FIFA 10 FIFA is a huge seller for EA and they devote a lot of attention to the game because of that. Included in this attention is listening to the fans and giving them what they want. Part of what they want is regular updates because the sport is constantly shifting. Good news, EA listened. EA SPORTS today announced that the Live Season premium service has been expanded into a new game mode for FIFA 10 enabling subscribers to feel the weekly pulse of football with dynamic updates of real-world information to make the game as close to real life as possible.
The new My Live Season premium service in FIFA 10 will feature weekly updates of player form, transfers, injuries, suspensions, fixtures, results and league standings, creating a mode that mirrors the real world, where gamers play their favorite real-world teams’ games in complete authenticity in any of the following leagues: Barclay’s Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and Mexican Primera Division. The game mode enables you to visually track your results against real life as you progress.

This mode allows you to take control of your favorite club and rewrite its season. On every match-day we collect tons of data (approx. 13,000 pieces of data every week) and upload that to a server. When you pick the club you want to control for the duration of the 09/10 football season, all the real-world results of the season to date will be downloaded. The only exception are your own club’s results, as you’ll play them to determine their fate. That’s where the beauty of this mode lies: you can actually compare how you are doing with your club, against how they are doing in real life as all the other results are based on real-world match outcomes..

My Live Season is available for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. The service is valued at a recommended retail price of £3.99 (about $6.50 U.S.) for the ongoing season on PlayStation Network and 400 points on Xbox Live Marketplace for each individual league. A package of all leagues will be available for the recommended retail price £7.99 (about $13 U.S.) for the ongoing season on PlayStation Network and 800 points on Xbox Live Marketplace.
FIFA Soccer 10 will be released on October 20, 2009.
