Some EA Sports Active: More Workouts Info

EA Sports active more workouts EA Sports Active has been out for months now and it's a good seller for the publisher; partly due to people buying anything that is made for Wii, and partly because it actually is a pretty good workout program. By offering a compelling alternative to other workout "games" and Nintendo's paltry Balance Board offering Wii Fit, Sports Active has done a good job helping the console transition from gaming device to lifestyle device in ways that Microsoft and Sony can only dream of at this point. Now it's time for an update: EA Sports Active: More Workouts

If you're like me and have Sports Active you've probably run through the 30-Day Challenge at least once an maybe a couple of times. Sure you can make your own workouts but that takes time and at this point making time just to turn the Wii on is hard enough. Thankfully EA likes your money and wants to keep you active so they are releasing EA Sports Active: More Workouts s. The name is lame but it is short and to the point. If you guessed you'll be getting more workouts out of this you get a low-fat cooking for being so in-tune with the obvious.

This Sports Active add-on gives you a new 6-Week Challenge to replace the old-school 30-Day vanilla challenge. You'll also get a new custom weekly schedule and check-in that you didn't have before.

As far as the workouts go, there are 35 new exercises and activities in warm weather and tropical locations to get your flab bouncing, some abdominal exercise to help control the aforementioned flab and a much needed warm-up/cool down feature that lasts more than 10 seconds. I'd have to say that is one of the biggest weaknesses of Sports Active, the too-short cool down. First they make you run your ass off for a minute or two then you cool down by walking for 10 seconds... Hmm, that's a bit short don't you think?

Then kick it up a notch with the More Workouts 6-Week Challenge that gives users a new customizable weekly schedule and a weekly check-in with the virtual trainer to track calorie, weight and workout goals.

EA Sports Active: More Workouts will be released on November 17, 2009.
