Battlefield Bad Company 2 Won't Support Games for Windows Live

BFBC2 Things have been coming up all roses lately for EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The PC version is going to offer dedicated servers, a PS3 beta hits next week and a PC beta follows in December. Unfortunately I finally found a chink in its armor. A small one that is relatively insignificant but still slightly disappointing.

BFBC2 will not support achievements through Games for Windows Live. Not earth shattering but other games do and will support the feature (e.g., Bioshock 2, Fallout 3.)

Here's the twitter response:
@altplusf4 we are doing a PC only version, so no controller support or Live support.

I demand a boycott! Just kidding. I was prompted to ask by DICE's achievement challenge and wondered if they were going to give achievements through the PC using the Windows Live system. In the end though, there will be online stats and badges so there really is nothing to complain about.

My personal experience with LIVE, suggests this is a good thing...

GFWL is a great idea, but not really implemented well, X-Fire and Steam are much better.

I agree it was a nice idea to integrate the two platforms (Xbox and PC) but MS never really supported it and games that are heavy into MP on PC are on dedicated servers and have web stats that cover most bases (see BF2 for example). Honestly, this game looks like it's going to rock and for me to say this is a chink you can see how good it is because this is all you'll find.
