The gaming industry was once thought of as recession proof but that theory is now full of holes as the U.S. economy's problems are having an effect on the overall gaming market.
There are exceptions to this of course as we'll see huge numbers from MW2 next month but even hot games can be affected. While 500k+ for Uncharted 2 is a solid number, it's disheartening that a game that is so good isn't selling better (only 1+ million sold since launch). I blame the economy (and the fact that it's a PS3 exclusive.) While I'm on game sales numbers, I'd like to point out that Brutal Legend didn't even crack the top 10 just like I thought it wouldn't. Can we please retire the metal-head stereo types now?
