Yahoo released their list of top searches for 2009 and one game managed to crack the top ten. MMO RuneScape comes in at number 10, pretty impressive for a free game that has to compete with the likes of World of Warcraft.

Of course if you think about it though, perhaps the fact that RuneScape doesn't have the advertising budget of Blizzard or the fansite exposure it makes sense people are searching for it because there is a dearth of info provided by the publisher.

In any event, it's no small feat making it into the top ten; RuneScape joins the ranks of Michael Jackson, Twilight, WWE, Megan Fox, Britney Spears, Naruto, American Idol, Kim Kardashian and Nascar.
