In the U.S. it's strictly a demo but for Euros it's a demo and a chance to get into the 2010 GT Academy. If you're good enough, you might get some virtual training and have a chance to race real cars on the UK's Silverstone track. Now that's pretty cool for a free demo that's limited to one car and a time trial right?
I'm actually kind of peeved that we're not getting something cool like the Academy in the U.S. but perhaps the market for racing games is stronger in Europe. Either that or they know we're better drivers over here already and don't need the training. After all, we can drive cars around an oval at 200+ miles-per-hour for hundreds of miles. Take that Europe!
