Codemasters is getting ready to offer a mobile version of their FORMULA ONE game to iPhone and iPod Touch gamers. In F1 2009, players will be able to jump into the seats of F1 drivers like 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONS Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.

When it hits the iTunes App Store, F1 2009 will feature all 10 teams, 20 drivers and 17 circuits from the 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. If you take a look at the images below you might notice the game looks pretty good and driving games seem to be perfectly adapted to the touch-gaming platform so this should be fun. The tracks are just what you'd expect to see in an F1 game; Eau Rouge at Spa Francorchamps, Becketts at Silverstone and the claustrophobic streets of Monaco. F1 2009 also features a night race in Singapore and the Yas Marina circuit in the United Arab Emirates.



F1 2009 comes with two different game modes: Time Trial and Endurance. Time Trial is all about you racing the clock as the player of your choice to set the best flying lap time. Endurance has players racing six, nine or 12 laps looking to set the best average lap time.

In addition to the standard game features, you'll also get the ability to upload your times to the global AGON Online Social Platform Leaderboard to see where you rank against other players.

The "getting ready to offer" was a hint, this game has no official release date yet because Apple's approval process is still scattershot at this point but I don't think the Codies will have a problem so expect this really soon.
