Wow, I knew that there were a lot of older games being ported to the iPhone but I didn't expect to see Final Fantasy 1 and 2. Square Enix confirmed via Twitter and Facebook that both of the classic games are being made for the iPhone and iPod Touch 23 years after the first game appeared.

While details are scarce at this point, Squenix did post two images from each FF iPhone version (see below). At this point there is still no release time-frame but I'll be sure to let you know when a date magically appears.
