LucasArts and LEGO are teaming up again to bring the next edition of LEGO Star Wars to just about every platform except PC (DS, PSP, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360) in August 2010.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is going to have all of the characters from the Clone Wars animated TV show and some additional ones from the movies. While I've decried the originality of the LEGO series before (recently in fact) they are at least going with the Clone Wars that steps outside of the standard Star Wars movies shadow.

In the game you'll be able to play as a Jedi or Separatist with some new character abilities not seen in the original LEGO SW games with new moves like saber slicing, jumps and long distance Jedi attacks. Also mentioned was the ability to go head-to-head and a better level builder. I might actually have to try this one.
