It's taken about 8 hours but I'm starting to get into the feel of the game a bit more now. I still don't like the clunky star map navigation scheme but there's no way around that.
Combat is pretty good as long as you manage your specialties before heading into a fight. The shotgun with upgrades is amazing because if you zoom in you still get kills from a distance like they are right in front of you. The cover system on the other hand is super-clunky and I try to avoid it at all costs.
The upgrade choices are nice but I'm not sure I agree with having to choose upgrades for the rest of the squad - I think this should be automatic based on experience when they go with you.
While there are issues, I'm warming up to the game and the story. I honestly am getting to the point where the combat is just something I do to continue the story and that's a good thing, I wanted to get lost in this an maybe it's happening.
