Yep, finally put the moves on Subject Zero, aka Jack, last night and it actually worked. The scene itself was disappointing and really just involved some dry humping and kissing it seemed but still, I got laid!

Mass Sex 2

I didn't know about the chance to have sex in the original Mass Effect and only really found out about the chance to get some action in ME2 after reading an article in Wired. Now I'm fairly obsessed with the idea. Yeah, I know, I'm a loser right? Nah, I'm just a dude and since we're always thinking about sex anyway (ladies, this is a fact we are ALWAYS thinking about sex) the idea of getting it on with one of my crewmates in a game just seems to make sense. Why not combine video games and sex right? Peanut butter and chocolate work so this might too.

It helps in ME2 that Bioware has just nailed faces. While the hair on characters is still a little rough, the faces are dead on. Looking at Miranda you can tell that she was based on Yvonne Strahovski and that's pretty awesome.
So far I've tried to hit on Miranda but now the hot bitch just gives me the cold shoulder and tells me she's busy every time I stop by to see her. Guess I must have picked the wrong dialog somewhere along the line. Fortunately though I've managed to pique the interest of Kelly, I mean Ensign Chambers. We've flirted a bit and I think I have a chance with her.

Jack is also a possibility but I'm not exactly sure because during our dialog at the prison her first reaction was to call me a pussy. Ouch, not exactly a great start. I've been kissing her ass lately though and you never know, I might get lucky.

Strangely, I think Jacob might be into my male Shepard because he's been a little to flirty with me in the weapons area. I wonder if him cleaning those gun barrels isn't just misplaced sexual angst. I don't even know if a little Shepard/Jacob slash action is even possible and I'm not sure I want to find out.

So, Mass Effect 2 is cool. Shoot aliens in between trying to get laid. Hell, I do that in real life anyway...

What the hell do I play?

It's funny, I really don't have room to complain here because the problem I have is one we should always be lucky to have. I've got a beta key for the PC BFBC2 that starts today, the Xbox 360 demo of BFBC2, a head start for Star Trek Online starting Friday and the Assassin's Creed 2 Battle for Forli DLC that comes out today. Oh yeah, there's also the fact that Mass Effect 2 is sitting in my drive at this very moment.

Making it even harder, I'm in fully potty training mode with kid 1.0 and the wife is 8 months pregnant with kid 2.0 and getting really grumpy. That leaves me with 2-3 quality hours of gaming when they all finally calm down and go to sleep. Fuck.

Mass Effect and Stupid Noob Mistakes

Been a little while since I posted about my Mass Effect 1 gaming so I'd thought it would be good to update where I stand.

I've been through the game twice now but made a critical error the second run through. You see I thought I'd hit level 50 for that achievement and wasn't paying attention as much as I should have. I topped out at 49. That's cool though right, no problem there... or so I thought. Turns out the game ends, you can't putter around open-world style after you complete the campaign. Wow, is that dumb!

If that wasn't bad enough, I kept saving over the same saved game. That means that if I wanted to go back past the final Saren fight I would be all the way back at level 27. What a noob mistake! It gets worse though. You see I also picked up the first DLC - Bring Down the Sky - but you can't play that either if you past the last mission. In order to play the DLC you have to be in the regular game before the finish. Double fuck.

Fortunately I don't really have the mental energy to spend on another game right now so I jumped back in at 27 and am now at 47 with Noveria and the Bring Down the Sky unplayed, let alone the last mission. With luck I'll even be able to hit level 60... you better believe I'm being careful with my saved games now!
