The game hit iTunes today for $9.99 and is waiting for interested gamers with a version that has a bit more oomph than the original DS version. Codemasters F1 2009 Launches on iTunes

F1 2009 iphone Codemasters' F1 2009 for iPhone launched today on iTunes. For $6.99 you can pick up this Formula 1 game and jump into the racing boots of your favorite 200+ MPH driver and tear up the tracks.

The game features are fairly comprehensive for a mobile game with all 17 F1 tracks, two game modes (Time Trial and Endurance), multiple skill modes, a customizable control scheme and the ability to share your progress and racing times through a service that integrates with Facebook and Twitter.

If there's one thing that comes to mind when I hear Codemasters (e.g., Pure, DiRT) it's racing games because they've done them so well in the past. It will be interesting to see what skills they've brought to the mobile platform with this game.

Codemasters Getting Ready to Release F1 2009 for iPhone and iPod Touch

F1 2009 for iphone Codemasters is getting ready to offer a mobile version of their FORMULA ONE game to iPhone and iPod Touch gamers. In F1 2009, players will be able to jump into the seats of F1 drivers like 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONS Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.

When it hits the iTunes App Store, F1 2009 will feature all 10 teams, 20 drivers and 17 circuits from the 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. If you take a look at the images below you might notice the game looks pretty good and driving games seem to be perfectly adapted to the touch-gaming platform so this should be fun. The tracks are just what you'd expect to see in an F1 game; Eau Rouge at Spa Francorchamps, Becketts at Silverstone and the claustrophobic streets of Monaco. F1 2009 also features a night race in Singapore and the Yas Marina circuit in the United Arab Emirates.

Apple's Top Game Apps for 2009

Apple's top games for 2009 Apple slapped up their top game apps for 2009 on iTunes yesterday and while they didn't provide numbers or even order the list, you're likely to find at least one of these on your iPhone.

There were of course a number of games provided by the standard big game publishers like EA, Ubisoft and Activision, Konami, 2k and more, but there were also quite a few indy games tucked in there making for a nice mix. Games such as Sims 3, Madden NFL, Assassin's Creed were joined by Flight Control and Stick Wars. The nice thing about indy games is that they tend to concentrate more on gameplay than graphics and storyline.

Mirror's Edge Coming to iPhone in January

Mirrors Edge for iPhone EA announced the mobile version of Mirror's Edge today. The iPhone-specific game will feature quite a bit of the gameplay that was available in DICE's original version. Free running and parkour on the touch screen seems like it might be a bit hard to pull off but EA has been getting better at mobile games lately. Here's some info from EA:
In a city where information is heavily monitored, where law is brutally enforced, where most people sacrifice freedom for a comfortable life, there are still those that choose to live on the edge. Take control of Faith, a member of an underground group known as “Runners”, acrobatic messengers who are the last source of free communication in this “perfect” city. But a deadly threat has grown from within and Faith finds that she alone is the one that can stop it
