DICE Launches Battlefield Bad Company 2 Onslaught Co-Op DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360

BFBC2 Onslaught DICE just announced the immediate availability of the Onslaught mode DLC for Battlefield Bad Company 2... in Europe. The U.S. will get it tomorrow. This is for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. PC gamers are left twisting in the wind on this one but they're used that treatment by now... This is pay-to-play DLC and it's 800 MS points for the 360 or $9.99 for PS3.

As a reminder - Onslaught is a four player co-op mode will have four initial maps - Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes, and Nelson Bay - that have been tweaked with some new lighting, time of day and vehicle additions. Each map has distinctive "gameplay focus" that virtually forces close cooperation and teamwork against the game's AI - according to EA and DICE at least.

RISK Factions Launches on XBLIVE with 5 Silly Factions to Play

RISK Factions EA just launched RISK Factions on XBLIVE today and if you're jonesing for some retro-reboot strategy gaming this is the one for you. For just 800 MS points you'll have the chance to play as one of five factions going after world domination. The factions are a bit different... cats, robots, zombies, yetis and human.

RISK strategists can start by playing through single-player campaign mode to familiarize themselves with the factions and Hasbro’s 2008 RISK rule-set, upon which the video game is based. Alternatively, players can jump directly into the action in one of the game’s three multiplayer modes including: Command Room mode, featuring the fast moving objective-based 2008 rule-set; Classic mode, offering traditional play where players conquer the world by eliminating all other opponents; and World Conquest mode, a mix of Command Room and Classic modes.

Video after the break.

RDR Outlaw DLC The Outlaws To The End co-op DLC is out for Red Dead Redemption today and I've got a couple of screenshots and a lot of info to share with you.

If you haven't already heard, this DLC is free but it's co-op only, but again, it's free. According to Rockstar this is the first of many DLC packs for Red Dead Redemption. The addition to RDR adds a couple of important game tweaks like revives, checkpoint respawns, medals and XP bonuses provide some extra incentive and some new classes and missions.

Medal of Honor Beta Gameplay Video

So I played the Medal of Honor beta last night on my PC and took some video for you. My first take on the game is that it's a mix of MW2, BFBC2 and Combat Arms. It's got the MW2 setting, the jump in and simplistic gameplay like Combat Arms and it uses images and the engine from BFBC2. The Frostbite engine works well enough but there are very little things that you can blow up. You might have a wall every now and then that can be blown with C4 but it's scripted that you can blow it. In other words, no destructible environment here. No squads either which kills it right there for me.

If I had to sum up the beta I could do it in one word - disappointed.

Medal of Honor Beta Screenshots Make it Out of the Middle East

Medal of Honor Beta I've got seven images from the Medal of Honor beta below and I think you'll like them. Some people have raised concerns about the lack of sharper, more highly detailed characters and terrain but it is a beta and we know that the Frostbite engine is certainly capable of a lot more so it should be fine in the final version.

The beta launched for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 VIP gamers on the 17th and hits wide-release for just about every pre-ordered gamer today.

Supremacy MMA - Just What the World Needs, Another MMA Game

Supremacy MMA I know this is coming out a bit overly cynical but does the world really need another MMA game? Is this the new sports genre that has every major developer/publisher pushing out their own versions? Supremacy MMA is being made by 505 Games, the same people making Naughty Bear and Backbreaker (yet another football game...)

It's not that the trailer (below) or screenshot are bad per se, it's that I think the two games we're already going to be seeing (THQ's UFC Undisputed and EA Sport's MMA) are more than enough to represent the sport of MMA.

Crackdown 2 Demo on XBLIVE Lets You Earn Achievements but It's Not a First

Crackdown 2 The Crackdown 2 demo is now up on XBLIVE and it's a bit different than normal because you can earn up to 100 gamer points (through achievements) by playing it. These are achievements that will be in the full game, you're just getting an early start on them.

While Microsoft's Major Nelson says that this is a first, it's not exactly true. When Microsoft decided to give episodic game downloads a try one of the first games available was Fable II. If you downloaded Fable II's episodes you'd be able to earn achievements by playing the free download. Of course the hook was you didn't actually get the gamer points added to your account unless you bought the game.

Unfortunately Crackdown 2's demo works the same way. You can "earn" the achievements but they won't unlock until you play (buy...) the full game. Lame.
