You Can Run to the Orphanage but You Can't Hide from the Yakuza

Yakuza 3 I've got some more new Yakuza 3 screenshots to share today and they're a bit different than the last batch. Instead of showing the action, these images focus on the life away from crime. The orphanage is where redemption will be found if given enough time but we all know that you can't just leave the Yakuza - no matter how far you run they'll drag you back in.

Yakuza 3 will be released in North America on March 9th, 2010. Hopefully Yakuza 4, which is in development, will follow soon after instead of making us wait months again after the original Japanese release date.

Sony Pushes Back Unknown Release Date of Motion Controller to Fall

Sony PS3 Motion Controller This one is kind of odd because Sony has never really released much information about their motion controller, its name (code-named Gem at one point), the price or when it will be released. With all that said, they have pushed back its release to the Fall... which actually gives us a time-frame finally.

The Wall Street Journal had the AP article with the info from Sony:

Sony Corp. said Wednesday it has pushed back the release of its highly anticipated motion controller for the PlayStation 3 game console to the fall.

The device will be available in North America, Europe, Japan and other Asian countries. Sony didn't say how much the controller will cost.

Like I said, the silver lining to this is an actual time-frame we didn't have before.

Yakuza 3 Images Have Gnarly Snake Tattoos, Orphans and Ass Kicking

Yakuza 3 I've got some new Yakuza 3 images today. Sega has been working on this game for a little while now and it will be the first time we've seen Yakuza on the PS3 so hopes are high. Sure Yakuza 4 has been announced but this will be the first time we're seeing version 3.0 out of Asia.

Judging by the screenshots below, the game looks great so far but this game really depends on how the story works and whether or not it can bring you into it. Without that, it would devolve into the thug-mafia game it's trying so hard to avoid.

Yakuza 3 will be released on March 9th, 2010.

New God of War III Images Have Kratos Fighting Gaia

god of war 3 Sony is teasing us all today with eight new images from the upcoming God of War III game. Kratos is getting his groove on with Gaia in these images and I think you'll agree that the bump up from PS2 to PS3 looks amazing.

Kind of ironic that Kratos is fighting with Mother Nature though isn't it? Not very green of you Kratos, shame on you!

God of War III will be released on April 1, 2010.

If you buy from Pre-order God of War III and get access to the E3 2009 demo, and an in-game Apollo Skin

Sony PS3 Firmware Nazis Force 3.15 onto Every PS3

PS3 firmware update Sony is finally forcing the 3.15 firmware update on everyone today. When it was first launched in December it was optional but now you won't have a choice.

I can understand why they need to force this on people but I still don't like it because choice is always better. There's also the fact that I and many others always seem to have problems with firmware updates. In other words, Sony updates the firmware and we can't use some part of our PS3 for a little while.

This is the firmware that includes the DTU, or Data Transfer Utility. Basically, this moves over all your junk from one PS3 to another. In addition to the DTU, the firmware is going to enable minis on the PS3. Minis were launched with the PSPgo and are essentially app-type games you're used to seeing on an iPhone. The good news here is that if you buy them on either the PSP or PS3 they will transfer to the other. This is smart and logical thinking we're not used to seeing from Sony the first time out. Sure they eventually get things right but rarely right from the get-go.
