BFBC2 Good news PS3 Gamers, BFBC2 Beta Servers Still Running

Yesterday DICE tweeted that they would try to keep the PS3 Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta servers up as long as possible and I'm happy to report, at 12:00 noon on Saturday the servers are still running. I just got a quick round in 5 days after the official beta period was supposed to end.

I wasn't expecting the game to still be active but thanks for the Christmas present DICE!

The Taxidermist Confirmed as Day 1 DLC for Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain Heavy Rain hasn't even been released on PS3 yet but they're announcing DLC for it already. If you pre-order the game, you'll get a Day 1 DLC focusing on yet another serial killer. The Taxidermist is Chapter 1 of the Heavy Rain Chronicles, and focuses on investigative journalist Madison Paige and her hunt for the notorious killer.

There is no word whether this will be available as standard DLC after the game's release (which is rumored to be February) but it would be foolish not to think it will be. All of the chapter DLC will run you $4.99.

Pre-order Heavy Rain from Amazon for release day delivery and the Taxidermist DLC.

English Demo for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Goes Live on PSN

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker The Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker demo has hit North American PSN today which is good news, the better news is that it's an English demo. There have been various versions of the MGS: Peace Walker demo out since the Tokyo Game Show but all of these iterations have been in Japanese and required a little finagling to get working on NA PSPs.

In even better better news, the English demo also provides more content that the previously available demos so you'll have more time to spend figuring out if Konami has made the controls work any better than the other MG PSP games. I've not been impressed with Portable Ops because the control scheme has been clunky but hopefully they've worked something out. I doubt it, but you never know.

New Heavy Rain Images Show Off Additional Characters

Heavy Rain I've got 20 new screenshots from Quantic Dream's upcoming PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain. The game centers around the hunt for the Origami Killer with four characters trying to stop the killer before he strikes again. The killer leaves little folded shapes on the victims, hence the name.

Heavy Rain has been talked about for years now and call it long-awaited is redundant at this point. These are the first new images of the game since August and as for a release date, all we know is 2010, no exact date has been offered yet. Still, I believe we'll see this in the first half of the year or sooner.

SOCOM Cold Front DLC Launches at 10 Bucks for 3 Days

SOCOM Cold Front Remember SOCOM Confrontation? Sure it came out last year and the devs promised free DLC soon... why do they always say soon? Anyway, the Cold Front DLC that was announced back on October 16th is finally launching tomorrow and no, it won't be free.

There's some good news though, if you're a "make lemonade out of lemons" kind of person, the full price of Cold Front is $14.99 but because of the backlash they're received over this not being free you can get it for $9.99 until December 20th. If you want this, save yourself the $5 and get on it before Sunday. Check out the details and images below.
