Mario Meets Duchamp in Nintendo Ready Made Art

Mario meets Dada

Can you see the Dada inspiration here? Art comes in many forms and is often in the eye of the beholder but as perverse as it may be, I like what was done here.

Head over to The Hard Line to see the whole exhibition.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Gets a Release Date and New Images

Super Mario Galaxy 2 I've got 11 new Super Mario Galaxy 2 images for your viewing enjoyment; they also come with the game's new release date of May 23rd. The last time we got images out of Nintendo for this game was way back in June 2009.

If you haven't played Mario since the SNES days (and I know there are some old farts around here besides myself) this looks pretty crazy. I might just have to put some new batteries in the Wiimotes and give this one a try.

Nintendo Adding Netflix Streaming this Spring

Wii gets Netflix It was big news when Microsoft added Netflix to the Xbox 360, it was sort of big news when Sony added it to the Netflix and now it's news again - Nintendo is adding Netflix to the Wii this spring. This is perhaps a bigger story than the other two because Nintendo has a much larger install base and with any luck, this will get more movies up and streaming at Netflix.

Nintendo is going the same route as Sony did with the PS3; Wii users are going to need a special DVD to get Netflix up and running.

To enable their systems to stream content from Netflix, Wii owners will need a Netflix instant-streaming disc for the Wii console, which will be available at no additional cost to Netflix subscribers. The free disc looks and operates the same as a disc-based Wii game, and the entire user experience will feel natural and intuitive to Wii console owners. Netflix members and Wii console owners can now reserve a free instant-streaming disc by going to www.netflix.com/Wii. Once available in the spring, the discs will be delivered for free by first-class mail.

Nintendo Getting New Version of EA's NBA JAM

NBA JAM Remember NBA JAM from 1993? Don't worry, I can't seem to remember it either. Fortunately EA has been kind enough to remind us that it was "one of the most recognizable franchises in videogame history." OK, I guess we should be exited then that a new version is being made for Nintendo's Wii and it will be released in 2010 at some point. Huzzah! I guess.

EA SPORTS NBA JAM revives the classic franchise with vintage NBA JAM gameplay, and all-new features that deliver a fresh new take on the game. Featuring the sights and sounds that fans of the franchise will instantly recognize, EA SPORTSNBA JAM mixes the old school with the new, to deliver a one-of-a-kind sports presentation on the Wii.

WiiWaa Brings Toddler Segment to Wii Games

WiiWaa DICE isn't the developer in Sweden and Zoink Games might just be onto something with their Wii game WiiWaa. Essentially, the game uses a Wiimote stuck into a stuffed animal to control the action on the screen. You feed the little monster the controller and then bounce him around, turn him, roll, and shake the crap out of him to move the character on the screen. Check out the video below and you'll see what's going on here. The kid in the video seems a bit old for the game but I doubt you'd want to watch a real toddler playing with this thing if you're not the kid's parent.
