Activision Want to Cure Mapathy with MW2 Map Pack DLC

MW2 Mapathy Activision announced the next MW2 map pack with their snarky Mapathy site. The site features an attractive woman looking a bit sad. No it's not that time of the month, nor did her kitten just die or is she bummed about the lack of dedicated PC servers. She is sad because she is tired of playing the same MW2 maps over and over. Activision says they have the cure... for Xbox 360 gamers that is. Xbox 360 exclusive on this one but I believe it's a "time exclusive" meaning you'll get this on PS3 and maybe PC at a later date.

Activision and IW provided nothing more than a date of March 30th. No number of maps, no list of maps, no screenshots. Just. A. Date. Of course with GDC going on right now in San Fran it's likely we'll get more info on this soon and there was also the leak last week that's on Youtube showing at least five maps - Crash, Overgrown, Complex, Compact and Storm. This is all unofficial but Activision keeps getting the video taken down so that might mean something...

Blur Beta Looking for Xbox 360 Drivers

Blur racing game beta Activision's Blur racing game has arisen from the ashes of last year's aborted launch and now is seeking input from Xbox 360 gamers with a new beta. You remember Blur right? It's the racing game that's totally different... because it includes built-in social networking. You can sent tweets in-game which is kind of neat but I'm not sure that's enough to help this game stand out from all other racers out there.

If you're lucky, you might still access to the beta through Fileplanet which is proving to be a great source for betas lately.

Lionhead Drops More Fable III Screenshots

Fable III Microsoft and Lionhead just dropped off two more screenshots from the upcoming Fable III.

Yeah, I know two really isn't all that many but we hadn't had any before the first set appeared about 2 weeks ago (including the image at the right) some progress is being made.

Maybe one day we'll get a release date that's a bit more accurate than Holiday 2010 but I doubt that's coming soon.

The Halo Reach Beta Features Multiple Maps, Gametypes and More Players in MP

Halo Reach Brian Crecente over at Kotaku got to spend some time asking Bungie about Halo Reach and there were two parts that stuck out regarding Halo ODST and the Reach beta.

When asked about whether Halo Reach was more similar to Halo 3 or ODST Bungie's Community Director Brian Jarrad game some subtle insight into what the Bungie crew feels about ODST:

...ODST was more of niche game, it was a little bit of an experiment," Jarrard said. "We didn't have to stay tried and true to the Halo formula."

While hardly condemning it isn't exactly praise either. My take on ODST was that it was a good game marred by Microsoft's handling of the marketing when it went from DLC to full-fledged game.
